‘The Fault In Our Stars’ is one of the most loved books on bookstagram. It has already
received a lot of critical acclaim from numerous newspapers and authors while being equally
loved by the readers.
The story is about two cancer patients – Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters who
meet at a support group and later fall in love. All goes smooth in the beginning until the
major plot twists arrive. The main concept of the book is to highlight how two people meet
and how fate affects them as they continue with their lives.
The author’s style is easy to understand and also creatively excellent. There aren’t many
characters overall but the ones present have been adequately described. The world around
the characters builds at the correct pace according to the plot of the story. The theme slowly
revealed itself throughout the book , getting clearer as the book came to a close.
I loved how the characters conversed, not boring us with long, philosophical talks but
amusing us with their energy. The thought put behind the conversations was clear , just like
the author’s idea. It motivates the reader to continue in life in spite of whatever happens.
The author makes you laugh till you cry your eyes out in one scene and makes you cry your
heart out in the other. The admirable usage of literary devices, witty remarks and
intelligently placed phrases keeps the reader engaged till the end of the book.
